On  Picturesque song lyrics: Just Before Lost Hills. Calabasas Virgenes dirt road, chestnut mare horse. MickTerry YouTube YouTube,  performed  LIVE  by  MICK TERRY   (soon!)

Heading west on the 101,
just outside Calabasas,
there's a hillside I really love to see
when ever I drive through there.
Heading west in the morning sun,
scenery rips quickly past us.
If you blink, you might even miss the sight.
It's better to stay aware.

A  JUST BEFORE LOST HILLS, right at Virgenes,
It's the most picturesque landscape I think I've ever seen.
JUST BEFORE LOST HILLS, lost in reverie.
JUST BEFORE LOST HILLS, it calls to me.

Used to work near that rolling hill.
Lunch times I'd go out walking
up the old dirt road through the spreading oaks.
There's someone I'd meet up there.
Half-way up, past the old sawmill,
sharing lunch, we'd be talking.
As my dusty boot tapped the weathered fence,
I sometimes might touch her hair.

B  JUST BEFORE LOST HILLS, right at Virgenes,
It's the most picturesque landscape I think I've ever seen.
JUST BEFORE LOST HILLS, lost in reverie.
JUST BEFORE LOST HILLS, she waits for me.

        We would talk.
Well, mostly, I'd talk and she'd listen.
        But she'd listen most attentively,
seeming to hang on every word.

Big dark eyes on her red-brown face
kept me so captivated.
But I knew that we couldn't ever be:
she belonged to somebody else.
Each midday we would meet that way,
highly anticipated,
'til a job transfer I could not defer
separated us from ourselves.

B

Heading west on the 101,
just outside Calabasas,
on that hillside, I sometimes think I see
that beautiful chestnut mare ...
